There are many recipes for fruit dips. Here are some delicious fruit dips that are great for parties or if you just want to eat a little healthier.

Caramel Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack cream cheese (8 oz)
  • ¾ cups brown sugar (light)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla flavoring
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 small pack instant vanilla pudding (3.5 oz size)

Directions:

Let cream cheese soften. Mix together cream cheese and brown sugar. Add other ingredients and mix well. Chill.

Orange Yogurt Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

8 ounces cream cheese -- softened
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine all ingredients; beat well. Chill two hours before serving. Serve as a dip with fresh fruit.


Strawberry Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
2 (8 oz.) strawberry yogurt
1 c. mashed strawberries

Combine 1 tub of Cool Whip with 2 (8 ounce) yogurt, add mashed strawberries and mix well. Serve as a dip with fresh fruit. Other kinds of yogurt and fruit may be substituted. Makes 5 cups, recipe can be halved.

Diabetic Yogurt Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. low calorie cream cheese (softened)
1 c. plain lowfat yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
14 pkg. Equal

Blend cream cheese and yogurt until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients. Chill. Serve with fresh fruit. Makes 2 cups.

Low Calorie Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

1 (8 oz.) container plain lowfat yogurt
1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip - lite
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
10-12 packets Equal
Strawberries, apples, bananas, oranges, or any fruit you like

Mix first four ingredients together and chill at least 1 hour. Serve with fruit.

Pina Colada Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

1 c. plain low-fat yogurt
2 packets vanilla Alba 77 milkshake mix
1/2 tsp. coconut extract
1/4 tsp. rum extract
1/2 c. canned crushed pineapple (unsweetened), drained slightly

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Chill several hours to blend flavors. Serve as a dip or topping for fresh fruit. Makes 4 servings. Each serving = 1/4 fruit, 1 milk exchange.

Cranberry Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

1 (8 oz.) carton vanilla yogurt
1/2 c. cranberry-orange relish
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
Assorted fruits for dipping (strawberries, apple slices, mandarin orange sections, & pineapple slices)

In a small bowl combine yogurt, cranberry-orange relish, nutmeg, ginger; mix well until blended. Cover and chill. Serve with assorted fruits for dipping. If desired, garnish with a strawberry and mint sprigs. Makes about 1 1/4 cups.

Lemon Yogurt Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

8 oz. carton lemon yogurt
8 oz. carton dairy sour cream
1 tsp. ginger
1 tbsp. honey
Fresh grated lemon rind, if desired
Assorted fresh fruit

In a small bowl, combine yogurt, sour cream, ginger, honey and lemon juice; blend well. Cover. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours to blend flavors. Garnish with lemon peel. Serve with assorted fresh fruit such as whole strawberries, pineapple chunks, seedless grapes, melon wedges and apple, pear or banana slices. Makes 1 2/3 cups.
